Dia (2020): Plot
Dia, a quiet biotechnology student in Bengaluru, secretly loves Rohit. When Rohit moves abroad, she never confesses her feelings. Three years later, they meet again in Mumbai, kindling a connection, and Rohit proposes. However, they meet with an accident on their way home from a movie, and Dia wakes up in the hospital to learn Rohit has died. This devastates her, and she attempts suicide in Bengaluru. As she faces an oncoming train, she’s saved by a call from Adi, a stranger who had retrieved her bag from a thief. Adi helps Dia overcome her depression, and they fall in love. When Dia returns to Mumbai, she is shocked to find Rohit alive. He explains he was declared brain dead, and her father told her he had died to help her move on. Dia calls Adi and Adi, heartbroken, wishes her happiness with Rohit. Dia and Rohit talk, and he encourages her to go back to Adi. Dia rushes to find Adi at a railway crossing, where he plans to end his life due to guilt over his mother’s death. Adi prays for Dia’s happiness and waits for a train, which eventually hits him as Dia watches in horror.
