Dasara (2023) : Plot
In 2009, Dharani, a coal thief in Veerlapally, is secretly in love with Vennela, but she reciprocates the feelings of his best friend, Suri. Dharani selflessly sacrifices his own love to facilitate their relationship. However, their love story takes a tragic turn when Suri is brutally killed by a gang hired by Chinna Nambi, who harbored an unhealthy obsession with Vennela.
To safeguard Vennela from Chinna Nambi’s advances and ensure her well-being, Dharani takes the drastic step of marrying her during the somber funeral rites for Suri. Initially resistant and resentful, Vennela eventually warms to Dharani’s unwavering commitment and care.
Seven years later, Dharani and his friends return to Veerlapally after serving their sentences. Dharani is profoundly affected by the ongoing suffering of the village’s men, trapped in the grip of alcoholism. Realizing the destructive impact of alcohol on the community, Dharani takes a bold stand. He sets the notorious bar ablaze in front of the entire village, symbolizing the need for change and a fresh start.
This dramatic act not only puts an end to the toxic influence of alcohol but also serves as a powerful reunion with Vennela, as they come together, emotionally stronger, after years of adversity and sacrifice.
