Anniyan (2005): Plot
Ambi is a law-abiding advocate who develops a split personality, Anniyan, a vigilante seeking justice. Anniyan punishes wrongdoers as per an ancient Hindu scripture. Ambi secretly loves Nandini, but she prefers his alter ego, Remo. Things take a turn when Nandini’s corrupt act puts her in Anniyan’s crosshairs. Ambi is later diagnosed with multiple personality disorder and seeks therapy. Anniyan vanishes after Nandini reciprocates Ambi’s feelings. Anniyan’s vigilante acts bring praise and criticism. He admits to the murders, drawing attention from the police. Prabhakar discovers Ambi’s connection to Anniyan. Ambi undergoes severe torture but resurfaces as Anniyan. He eventually blends both personalities and marries Nandini, hiding his alter ego’s final act.
