In 2019, a man gives a book about his father, Arjun, to a woman in New York City. He receives a call from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about an event to honor his father. In the event, Nani shares Arjun’s life story. In 1986, Arjun was a talented cricketer in Hyderabad but quit due to politics. He loses his job and faces financial struggles. Ten years later, Arjun’s son, Nani, wishes for an Indian cricket jersey. Arjun promises to get it despite financial constraints. Arjun tries to regain his job through legal means but lacks the money.
Arjun is asked to play in a charity match, but it offers no match fee. He decides to return to cricket after realizing his son’s love. He impresses in Ranji cricket despite initial doubts. In 2019, Nani and Sarah attend a felicitation event for Arjun. Nani receives the Indian jersey posthumously awarded to Arjun. It’s revealed that Arjun died of heart failure due to Arrhythmia, a condition he hid. Nani praises his father’s determination and fulfills a promise made 23 years ago, highlighting that it’s never too late to pursue dreams.
