Saamy² (2018): Plot
In India, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Aarusaamy was transferred to Palani after taking down corrupt politician Perumal Pichai. He lives a peaceful life with his pregnant wife Bhuvana. Their son, Ram, aspires to join the IAS. However, Ram’s world turns upside down when Raavana, the most ruthless son of Perumal Pichai, kidnaps Diya, the Union Home Minister’s daughter. Ram rescues Diya and wins her heart. Ram also becomes an IPS officer, and he’s posted in Tirunelveli.
Ram’s grandparents reveal that Saamy, his father, was once a Deputy Commissioner in Tirunelveli but was brutally killed by the Pichai brothers. Saamy’s tragic past compels Ram to go to Tirunelveli and seek justice. He takes on the Pichai brothers, warning Raavana that he’ll bring them to justice. Ram eliminates Devendra and Mahendra for their criminal activities and tracks down Raavana. A series of confrontations ensue, leading to a final battle in the Thar Desert. Ram defeats Raavana, leaving him stranded in the desert. The movie ends with Ram and Diya getting married, and a message hints that Saamy’s adventures will continue.
