Vinoth Kumar and produced by Ramana and Nandha Durairaj of Rana Productions. The movie features Vishal, Ramana, Sunaina, and Prabhu in leading roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the film’s music and score, with Balasubramaniem and Balakrishna Thota handling cinematography and N. B. Srikanth in charge of editing.
Laththi Charge (2022): Plot
Muruganantham, a police constable, lives with his wife Kavitha and their asthmatic 10-year-old son Rasu. He gets suspended for wrongly accusing a man of assaulting a girl who later died. After being reinstated with the help of DSP Ranganathan, he is instructed by DIG Kamal to torture a suspect who harassed the DIG’s daughter. Reluctantly, Muruganantham tortures the suspect, only to discover he’s the son of a powerful mafia kingpin named Sura. Enraged by the torture, Sura sends his henchmen after Muruganantham and Rasu.
They escape but get trapped in an under-construction building. Muruganantham must reach Rasu’s inhaler on the ground floor. Vellai and his men capture him but learn that Muruganantham knew about Vellai’s involvement in Pavithra’s death and brought them there for revenge. A fight ensues, and Muruganantham kills most of the henchmen. Rasu is captured and buried alive. Muruganantham finds him and saves him with the inhaler. He then takes on Vellai’s gang, killing Sura and Vellai to avenge Pavithra’s death. The story ends with Muruganantham and Rasu reuniting and deciding to move on from the traumatic incident.
