Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020): Plot
In 1995, Valmiki and Ramachandra, both clerks, work for ARK RadhaKrishna. Ramachandra, who marries ARK’s daughter Yasu, becomes wealthy, while Valmiki remains middle-class. When their children are born, there’s a mix-up with the babies. Valmiki’s son, Raj, is switched with Ramachandra’s son, Bantu, who appears to be stillborn. Valmiki wants his son to grow up wealthy, leading to a tragic accident that leaves Valmiki with a limp. In 2020, Bantu seeks a job at Ammu’s travel company, and his relationship with Ammu blossoms after a business trip to Paris. Meanwhile, Raj returns from abroad and is engaged to Ammu. Appala Naidu attempts to harm Ramachandra over a business deal, and Bantu steps in to save him. He discovers his true parentage from Sulochana, who passes away.
Bantu addresses family issues at Ramachandra’s home and is eventually thrown out after an incident. He helps save Nandu from Naidu’s threats, reconciles with Ramachandra, and receives 50% of the family’s shares. Raj, now comfortable in a middle-class life, comments that the baby switch should have happened 25 years ago, leaving Valmiki dismayed. The story ends with Bantu leaving with Ammu while Valmiki watches hopelessly.
