Aadupuliyattam (2016): Plot
The film begins with a prince falling in love with Chempakam, but he’s defeated in a war. Chempakam uses her special powers to protect him but then ends her own life. Her palace becomes cursed, killing anyone who enters. The story then follows Sathyajith, a wealthy businessman haunted by visions. He’s advised by a psychiatrist to seek help from Yogendra Muni, who reveals that Chempakakottai, a property Sathyajith purchased, is haunted by vengeful spirits. To appease them, he must collect soil from the fort’s four corners.
Despite challenges, he collects the soil and receives instructions from the yogi. Sathyajith and his friends go to Chempakakotai, and a flashback reveals they were once fraudsters who betrayed a woman named Mathangi. In the present, Malli’s ghost seeks revenge, leading to possession and accidents. Yogendra Muni reveals that only Mathangi can calm Malli’s spirit. Sathyajith and Aami go to rescue Mathangi from Aadhishwaran, who initially resists but later allows Mathangi to leave. They return to Chempakakotai, where Mathangi calms Malli’s spirit but loses her own life in the process.
